Cornwall is home to the fastest growing tech sector within the South-West. Developing our current and future workforce in advanced digital skills is essential, not just for our digital sector, but it also supports economic prosperity and productivity for all sectors.
Digital Skills Partnership

Digital Futures
Building and transforming digital workforce skills for today and tomorrow across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Cornwall has the fastest growing tech sector in the south-west. This is creating an increasing demand for digital skills which cannot currently be met locally. Digital Futures is receiving £2 million of funding through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
Skills Bootcamps in digital skills
To date over 1,000 learners across Cornwall have started careers in the growing tech and digital sectors after benefiting from a Skills Bootcamp. Funded by the Department for Education’s National Skills Fund employers and individuals can benefit from highly subsidised or fully funded digital and technical training courses that would normally cost between £1,500 and £3,000.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are available to both new and existing staff. There is a wide range of Apprenticeship standards available to develop digital skills including software, business and systems analysis, cybersecurity, data analysis and network infrastructures. Apprenticeship training is either fully funded or 95% subsidised by the Government, so they can be a fantastic way to help your business to develop the digital skills it needs for the future. The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education have published a series of occupational pathways, including one for digital, showing the qualifications that are available.
